In HDD projects, the focus is often on the drilling itself, but laying the pipeline can also be quite a challenge. During a recent project in Horst, we therefore applied a practical solution to keep the surrounding area accessible.
This project involved laying a long pipe across a road that remained in use. To avoid having to close the road completely, we created a bridging system using containers and roller sets. The casing pipes were temporarily guided above the road, with the roller sets ensuring that the pipe could move freely during retraction.
Thinking along with the environment
The use of roller sets limits the pulling force and tension in the pipe and allows the bundle to be inserted in a controlled manner. At the same time, the underlying road remains available for traffic and other users of the site.
This solution requires thorough preparation and precise planning, but ensures that the work can be carried out safely without unnecessarily restricting accessibility.
Practical and efficient
With these types of temporary structures, we are always looking for ways to carry out projects as efficiently as possible, with an eye for the environment. Sometimes the challenge lies not only in the drilling itself, but also in the logistics surrounding it.
By thinking ahead about solutions such as this bridging, work can continue while the surrounding area remains accessible.
