How do you install a 25 kV cable connection and gas pipeline in a protected nature reserve in Germany? You design using the HDD method and engage Holland Drilling.
The challenges: a protected nature reserve, minimal working space, a tight schedule, hardly any opportunities for an extension route, a river to cross, and strict nature management regulations.
Based on a clear and effective presentation and the fact that Holland Drilling has a very compact maxi rig, the client selected Holland Drilling as the contractor for this challenging job.
Over the course of two months, no fewer than nine HDD drillings were completed, requiring the installation of over 7,000 meters of pipe. In addition to setting up and restoring the work site, Holland Drilling also supplied and welded the casings and medium-carrying gas pipes.
The project was completed well within schedule, to the client’s complete satisfaction. This satisfaction led to a successful follow-up project, which was also completed successfully and within schedule and budget.
