Auger drilling Eugal pipelines

In 2019, Holland Drilling carried out auger drilling on several sections of the 56″ (1,420 mm diameter) Eugal pipeline. The Eugal pipeline is a gas transport pipeline constructed in northeastern Germany.

The pipeline crosses existing infrastructure, such as national and railway lines, at several locations. Holland Drilling completed several of these crossings using the auger drilling method.

After drilling a dummy pipe, the 56″ gas transport pipeline was inserted. The boreholes measured over 70 meters in length. Holland Drilling deployed its new 320-ton pilot-controlled auger drilling rig, which was built at Holland Drilling’s special request and features a unique torque of 100,000 Nm.
